REVIEW: IFENNA’S DIARIES

Ifenna's Diaries

Conscious storytelling for a yearning generation...your teenager should read this

Title: Ifenna's Diaries

Author: Ifunanya Odinka

Genre: Literary Fiction

If there ever was an ideal way of packing a fiction novel with excess moral lessons while keeping it entertaining and engaging for a reading audience known for their short attention span and many distractions, then, Ifenna's Diaries is it. Odinka sets out in this book to bring to society's attention, the many struggle innocent kids have to face with peer pressures and social ills among their age grades right inside their placessof learning.

The main character, Ifenna Ifediora has just joined a new school which is comparatively elite. Ideally, she's supposed to take a moment to adjust to her new school while coping with her academics, but the many extracurricular factors not intended by parents and authorities sweeps her off her bearing. There's a boy courting her attention, yet being an asshole about it, a girl gang leader making sure her life is hell for attracting her crush's attention and as if things are not horrible enough for her at school, siblings rivalry and scarcely attentive parents at home complicates matters even further for Ifenna.

As you read you get this sense that the clock is counting down to when Ifenna will cave from all these pressures.

Ifenna's Diaries is a conscious storytelling for a yearning generation seeking attention and saving from themselves, we recommend that your teenager should read this.
