This might have been some sort of coming of age story but you cannot come of age enough to outgrow love. Michael and Lynda could have found love in each other from the first time they set eyes on each other but Michael who is from a broken and poor home struggles with his self esteem too bad he can't see all he needs to win his girl is his love. Lynda on the other hand is battling with a string of poor decisions which makes her wonder if settling with Michael would become one of them
Crossroads is a story of two people who fights to keep their love in spite of their backgrounds and experiences which has formed their polarizing personalities. Crossroads won the Debut Book category of the 2020 Bookhouse Prize and it's easy for one to see why. It would seem that Peters all along the pages of Crossroads is trying to teach us that the only times love fails are the times love is missing. Crossroads is a brilliantly carved literary art from the hearts of two lovers. An innocently consuming work of literature easy to read.
